Welcome to Bright Star's "Summer Sizzler" Teddy Bear Artist Online Show!

Please visit all the Heir Bears who came to this special event just to meet you! I am Jane Woodard and I have been creating real fur bears and other critters, using recycled furs, since 1999. My fur bears are heirloom quality, fully lined with a cotton fabric to stabilize and reinforce the fur. They are created to ensure you can pass them on to your children and grandchildren. You might also find a few mohair and faux fur creations which have been added to the den.

I have been featured in articles in Teddy Bear Review (including on the cover) Teddy Bear and Friends, Teddy Bear Times, and most recently the March 2022 issue of Teddy Bear Times and Friends magazines. Severa1 of my bears have been the proud winners of the URSA Awards in 2016 and 2020.

"APOLLO the Lion"

"Apollo" is a one-of-a-kind 16" lion created from a recycled light brown sheared mink fur coat. He has off-white Mongolian lamb fur for his wild mane and tail tip. He is fully jointed and firmly stuffed with polyester fiberfill and some pellets for added weight. He has tan suede paw and foot pads, imported olive glass eyes, and a hand-embroidered brown Perle cotton nose.

If you look closely, you can even see a few of "Apollo's" horsehair whiskers. He comes with a sewn-in tag and a removable hang tag.

"SALT & PEPPER the Bunny"

"Salt & Pepper" is a one-of-a-kind, 13" tall lop-eared bunny, created from a cross mink fur coat. This cross mink fur is off-white with natural accents of gray throughout. The paw pads are light gray suede. He has black glass eyes, and a hand-embroidered gray Perle cotton nose. He also has a few very long horsehair whiskers.

"Salt & Pepper" is 5-way jointed and stuffed with polyester fiberfill. He wears a simple two-toned ribbon tied in a bow around his neck. There is a a sewn-in tag and a removable hang tag.

"PETALS"

"Petals" is a 12" bear created from a recycled autumn haze mink fur coat. She has dark brown suede paw pads, black glass eyes, and a hand-embroidered brown Perle cotton nose. She wears a handmade soft green silk velour floppy-brimmed hat that is accented with small vintage flowers and an ostrich plume. The hat is secured by a beautiful matching ribbon tied in a bow around her neck.

"Petals" is 5-way jointed and stuffed with polyester fiberfill. She comes with a sewn-in tag and a removable laminated hang tag.

"JACK"

"Jack" was created from a recycled raccoon fur coat. He has dark brown glass eyes, and a hand-embroidered dark blue Perle cotton nose. He is 18" tall, His paw pads are dark brown suede.

"Jack" is 5-way jointed and stuffed with polyester fiberfill. He wears a vintage starched white collar around his neck. He comes with a sewn-in tag and a removable laminated hang tag.

"GERTIE the Elephant"

"Gertie" is 10" high when seated, and was created from a recycled textured gray mink fur coat. She is fully jointed and firmly stuffed with polyester fiberfill. She has dark gray paw pads and matching inner ears, and black shoebutton eyes.

"Gertie" is wearing a green, gold and orange ruff around her neck. She brings her favorite vintage pull toy with her.

"Gertie" has a sewn-in tag and a removable hang tag.

"BLUEBERRIES & CREAM"

"Blueberries & Cream" is one-of-a-kind and was created from a recycled navy blue sheared beaver fur coat and a recycled off-white sheared beaver fur coat. This sheared beaver fur is very soft and luxurious. She has dark blue glass eyes, and a hand-embroidered dark blue Perle cotton nose. She is 15" tall, Her paw pads are matching blue suede.

"Blueberries & Cream" is 5-way jointed and stuffed with polyester fiberfill. She wears a patriotic red, white and blue ribbon around her neck. She comes with a sewn-in tag and a removable laminated hang tag.

"MARVIN the Mouse"

"Marvin" the mouse was created from a recycled white mink fur coat. He has pink suede paw pads, vintage black shoebutton eyes, and a hand-embroidered pink Perle cotton nose. The insides of his VERY big mouse ears are also pink suede. His mouse tail is pink suede. He even has a few very long horsehair whiskers.

"Marvin" wears a big red vintage bowtie.

"Marvin" is 5-way jointed and firmly stuffed with polyester fiberfill and some pellets for added weight. He is approximately 11" tall and comes with a sewn-in tag and a removable hang tag.

"SLIM JIM the Giraffe"

"Slim Jim" is 14" tall and was created from a testured mohair fabric. His mane is a silky decorative trim. He is fully jointed and stuffed with polyester fiberfill. He has brown faux suede paw pads and vintage black shoebtton eyes. Every giraffe has those big long eyelashes and so does "Slim Jim."

"Slim Jim" wears a vintage key on a strand of raffia around his neck.

Slim Jim" has a sewn-in tag and a removable hang tag.

"ERNIE"

"Ernie" is 18" tall and was created from a recycled fur coat. This fur is grayish-brown in color, very soft and silky. He has dark tan suede paw pads, amber glass eyes, and a hand-embroidered brown Perle cotton nose. He is 5-way jointed and stuffed with polyester fiberfill.

"Ernie" loves baseball and is wearing a vintage child's baseball uniform shirt. He also wears a vintage pale blue wool cap. He just visited the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum in Cooperstown, NY, and brings a vintage souvenir pennant with him.

"Ernie" has a sewn-in tag and a removable hang tag.
