Welcome to Bright Star's "The Spring Stars" Teddy Bear Artist Online Show!

Please visit all the Heir Bears who came to this special event just to meet you! I am Jane Woodard and I have been creating real fur bears and other critters, using recycled furs, since 1999. My fur bears are heirloom quality, fully lined with a cotton fabric to stabilize and reinforce the fur. They are created to ensure you can pass them on to your children and grandchildren. You might also find a few mohair and faux fur creations which have been added to the den.

I was just featured on the cover of issue #271 of Teddy Bear Times and Friends magazine, with a Q&A article in the same issue. In the past I have also been featured in articles in Teddy Bear Review (including on the cover) Teddy Bear and Friends, Teddy Bear Times, and the March 2022 issue of Teddy Bear Times and Friends magazines. Severa1 of my bears have been the proud winners of the URSA Awards in 2016 and 2020.

"MRS. PEPPER"

"Mrs. Pepper" is 18", created from a very unique feathery gray, black and white faux fur fabric. The chest inset and inner ears are an off-white faux fur. The paw pads are charcoal gray suede. She has black glass eyes, and a hand-embroidered gray Perle cotton nose.

"Mrs. Pepper" is 5-way jointed and stuffed with polyester fiberfill. She wears a vintage black straw hat with a large yellow flower. She also has a two-toned charcoal gray and white ribbon tied in a bow around her neck.

"CRYSTAL"

"Crystal" is a 16" bear created from a recycled Norwegian Blue Fox fur jacket. Fox fur coats are some of the most expensive fur coats and this one was quite unique. The fur was cut into squares, and then alternated with leather squares, to create a subtle checkerboard effect.

"Crystal" is fully jointed and stuffed with polyester fiberfill. She has dark brown suede paw pads, black glass eyes, and a hand-embroidered brown Perle cotton nose.

"Crystal" has a sewn-in tag and a removable laminated hang tag.

"SOPHIE"

"Sophie" is 11" tall and was created from a gray mink coat. She is fully jointed and stuffed with polyester fiberfill. She has matching gray suede paw pads, black glass eyes, and a hand-embroidered Perle cotton nose.

"Sophie" is wearing a handmade floppy-brimmed hat that is accented by a sprig of vintage silk flowers. Her hat has a ribbon that ties around her neck in a bow. She has a sewn-in tag and a removable laminated hang tag.

"SPRINKLES"

"Sprinkles" is 15" tall and was created from a recycled lynx fur coat. She is fully jointed and stuffed with polyester fiberfill. She has matching suede paw pads, black glass eyes, and a hand-embroidered Perle cotton nose.

"Sprinkles" is wearing a ribbon that ties around her neck in a bow. She has a sewn-in tag and a removable laminated hang tag.

"ZEUS"

"Zeus" is a 14" tall lion, created from a caramel-colored sheared rabbit fur coat and white Mongolian lamb fur for his mane and tail. He is fully jointed and firmly stuffed with polyester fiberfill.

"Zeus" has matching caramel-colored suede paw pads, hazel starburst glass eyes, a hand-embroidered Perle cotton nose, and horse-hair whiskers.

"Zeus" comes with a sewn-in tag and a removable laminated hang tag.

"Spring" is 13" tall and was created from a dusty blue curly matted mohair fabric. She is fully jointed and stuffed with polyester fiberfill. She has matching blue fabric paw pads, black glass eyes, and a hand-embroidered light blue Perle cotton nose.

"Spring" is wearing a handmade floral print cotton floppy-brimmed hat that is accented by a sprig of vintage peach-colored silk flowers. Her hat has blue ribbons that tie around her neck in a bow. She has a sewn-in tag and a removable laminated hang tag.
